YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy, in plain language.
What Pi2 Budget processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
About this policy
This policy explains how Pi2 handles information for Pi2 Budget and this Pi2 Community website. Pi2 Budget is a personal and shared-household budgeting app. Other Pi2 products may have additional notices for their own features.
For privacy questions or requests, contact the Pi2 team at levilgenius@icloud.com. Last updated: .
Information we handle
- Your account: email address, display name, account identifier, sign-in and verification information. Sign-in is handled through Google Firebase Authentication.
- Your budget: household membership and invitations; income sources, pay schedules, bills, amounts, dates, allocations, payment records, notes, and other details you enter or ask the assistant to save.
- Assistant content: messages, relevant conversation history, responses, transcripts, selected photo or file contents, and details of requested budget changes.
- App operation: request and action records used to complete changes, recover interrupted requests, and avoid duplicate saves.
- Diagnostics: crash traces, installation identifiers, device and operating-system details, app version, and technical events used to investigate faults. The app also attaches a support-session identifier.
- Support: your email address, message, and any screenshots or information you choose to send us.
Budget information comes from you and the people sharing your household. Pi2 Budget does not connect to your bank or initiate bill payments. Marking a bill paid records what you report.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate accounts, store and synchronize budgets, show calculations and reminders, support household collaboration, answer assistant requests, carry out requested edits, provide customer support, and maintain service reliability and security.
Only send information needed for your task. Avoid sending passwords, verification codes, full payment-card numbers, or unrelated sensitive documents to the assistant or support.
AI assistance and your choice
When you use the assistant, Pi2 may send your message, relevant conversation history, files or photos you select, recordings for transcription, and relevant household budget information to the AI processing provider. This can include names, income, bills, paydays, payments, and record identifiers needed to carry out your request. This information is not necessarily anonymous.
Manual budgeting does not require using the assistant. On builds with Settings → AI data sharing, you can review your choice and turn sharing off. This stops new AI requests; it does not recall information already sent or reverse budget changes.
During testing: older TestFlight builds may not have the AI-sharing control yet. If it is missing and you do not want AI processing, use the manual budget controls and do not send messages, recordings, or attachments to the assistant.
Pi2 requests that AI response objects are not stored as a provider-hosted conversation. That setting does not guarantee zero retention: the provider's operational, security, and legal retention rules can still apply. We do not promise that deleting a local conversation instantly erases every service-provider record.
Device permissions and diagnostics
Camera, photo, and file access are used for content you choose to attach. Microphone access is used when you record a message. You can change camera, photo, microphone, and notification permissions in your device settings. Denying these permissions does not prevent manual budget entry.
Optional reminders are scheduled on your device and may appear on its lock screen, depending on your notification settings.
Current app builds collect crash diagnostics automatically using Firebase Crashlytics. This is separate from AI sharing, and turning off the assistant does not turn off crash reporting. Diagnostic reports are intended to contain technical information rather than your messages or budget contents. Google's published Crashlytics policy describes a 90-day retention period before removal from its live and backup systems begins.
Storage and retention
Your account and saved budget records remain while the account or household is in use. Change history, earlier budget snapshots, and assistant action/response records are retained to support reliable saves and troubleshooting. Editing or removing a current bill does not necessarily remove its earlier history.
Conversation history is also stored on your device, scoped to your account and household. Saved conversation history contains attachment names and types rather than the original file bytes. Temporary recordings and selected-file copies can remain in the app's cache until cleaned up by the app or operating system. Service providers process the contents of files and recordings submitted for a request.
Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the request and maintain a record of the resolution. Provider logs and backups follow the relevant provider's retention and deletion processes. Contact us if you need help understanding or requesting removal of your information.
Protecting information
Pi2 uses encrypted network connections, account authentication, and household access rules to protect app information. Access to operational systems is restricted to supporting and operating the service. No system can guarantee absolute security; contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Deleting your account
You can initiate deletion in Pi2 Budget → Settings → Delete account. The app shows the affected households and businesses before you confirm. This deletes the shared Pi2 account and private app records, including Budget assistant requests and saved responses. It affects access across Pi2 apps, not only Budget.
Shared households and businesses with other members remain for those members. The app removes your membership and structured account attribution and, where applicable, transfers ownership to the person shown. Financial records, bill names, and free-text information in retained shared records can remain. A household or business with no other members is deleted.
Deletion is processed in the background. Limited status and security records remain temporarily to finish the request and prevent reuse of old sign-in tokens; these records are scheduled to expire after seven days. Provider cleanup can take additional time. Read the deletion steps and shared-data details.
Requests and other choices
You can correct current budget information in the app. You can also contact levilgenius@icloud.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, or assistance with a privacy concern. Rights vary by location. We may need to verify that you control the account before fulfilling a request; do not email your password or verification codes.
Pi2 Budget is intended for adults age 18 and older. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
This website
You can read this website without creating a Pi2 account. It does not use advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Its hosting services still process network and technical information, such as IP address, requested page, browser details, and request time, to deliver and protect the website.
